INTRODUCTION

 

Communications and Information Technology, the University established the Directorate of IT & SS in the year Dec 2007.The Directorate in the first instance took up the challenge of modernizing the system of Governance and has been actively striving for implementation of e-Governance in different spheres of the university system. The Directorate has set very high benchmarks of success when it comes to implementation of the various projects undertaken by it and has been collaborating with several multinational organizations. In order to bridge the digital divide within the university and its affiliated colleges, the e-Governance activities have been taken up in all the affiliated Colleges particularly in the Government run Colleges which cater to about 90% of the student enrolments. Fully equipped Information Centres have been established in the affiliated Government Colleges to function as e-Governance Support Centres for the Colleges and e-service delivery centres for the students. 

 

The Directorate has the distinction of getting financial support of 4.43 crore from Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Department of Information Technology, Government of India for implementation of e-Governance in the University Examination and Admission Systems. The present document gives an overview of various modules under the e-Governance project undertaken by the Directorate of Information Technology and Support Services since the project was kick-started. It lists the background information and a brief overview of sub-modules in addition to the step-wise process involved in using each module

  

 

 

 

PROJECT TEAM


In the year 2009, when the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India released the funds for the project, the University took serious steps for adequate execution of the project. Keeping in view its result oriented nature, a Project Management Committee (PMC) was constituted by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor to see that the project is implemented and completed within the stipulated time scale. The committee among others comprises of senior and dedicated members from the academia and administration who have appropriate expertise in IT, Electronics, Management and Administration and were at the fore front of implementation of the e-Governance project at the operational level in the University and its affiliated colleges.
